Five days remain to swell subscriptions for the Courier contest with $250 pianos and a Jamestown trip as prizes. Candidates rally to convert non subscribers, urge friends and relatives to vote, and plan the final count set for March 9 1907 with ballots sealed until then.
District No 1 covers all East Waterloo city area. Miss Eva Sherman at 100 East Third shows 0. free votes. Miss Elsie Rankins at 608 East Veath shows 2.22. Miss Jessie Russell at 185 Walnut shows 222. Miss Two Welstead at 34 Muthberry shows 0.170,260.
In all cases where ballots are issued, subscriptions must be paid in advance. The full amount of money must be sent direct by mail, paid to local agents, or brought to this office. District No. 4 includes western bank towns of the Cedar River area with lists of residents in La Porte City Hudson Nashua and nearby communities. In Voorhies Idwa March 1 Mr and Mrs John Smith of La Porte visited Mrs Smiths parents Mr and Mrs Tim Cranny. Jose Koerner east of town heads to Waterloo for planned peritonitis operation this week. Mrs C Juhl improving after two week illness. About seventy five youths from Eagle township Blessing and Voorhies visited Mr McDermut and family Sunday evening and left late, wishing the host and hostess happiness in Waterloo. Mr and Mrs Pat Mahony moved to Voorhies from the farm Wednesday, their sons Con and Tim will remain. Timothy Cranny recovered from a brief illness and went out again.
