In St Louis on July 1William Wright who was acquitted of killing Constable Young yesterday shot and dangerously wounded 24yearold Charles Tozer at the home of Mrs Marie Mohrie. Mrs Mohrie a noted Wright supporter during his defense stood by him as the shooting followed a chaotic scene. The motive remains a mystery and Mrs Mohrie fears Wright is unsettled.
On Tuesday H. J. High sold to Casper Nuenkirk a 130 acre Fox township farm for 9750 dollars. The same day High sold 8 cents belonging to Tridie of Fox township to Matt Smith of Dewar, a sale negotiated four hours after listing.
Former Governor Folk said he was tentatively engaged by Circuit Attorney Jones to prosecute Ellis Wainwright, the millionaire brewer now in Paris, if he returns to St. Louis to stand trial on bribery charges connected with the suburban hoover deal. Folk declared he could convict Wainwright.

Des Moines July 1. Portraits of Mr and Mrs Elmer Jamisez slain Sunday by Calvin Littlepage their former son in law. Littlepage fled with his ex wife and child after the shooting threatening to kill them. A posse pursued but he escaped. Mrs Littlepage and the baby jumped from a buggy to escape. Littlepage later killed himself.
Marshalltown nearly dry as twenty one saloons faced injunction closures after Sunday revival meetings. Twelve saloonists had consent petitions renamed to relatives or employees, leaving only four operating with government licenses pending. In Seaport, the naval collier Nero grounded on Brenton's reef in fog while en route to Heston for supplies.

The horse kicked him while he was harnessing it for a patron.
Des Moines July 1 Captain John C Raymond of the Second Cavalry at Fort Des Moines died early today after lingering since he was shot by Corporal Lisle Crabtree three weeks ago The shooting followed a reprimand for staying in the city longer than the time allowed.
Faribault Minnesota July 1 a north bound Rock Island passenger train struck and killed Mrs Duffina and her daughter while en route home from town. The farmer Melville Duffina and another daughter were unharmed in the incident. Local authorities investigated the morning accident and advised no immediate charges.
Dubuque, July 1 George Convey 14 died at Finley hospital after a two year fight with bone cancer. He had amputations of the right foot, leg at knee, hip, shoulder, and later operations for a head infection. Despite vitality and nerve, the boy's long illness ended Tuesday afternoon.
Henry Wilts ten years old son of Mr and Mrs Henry Wilts drowned while wading with three companions in Washburns pond northeast of base ball park. He went under at 4:15 PM after straying beyond the dike. Local firefighters doctors and Iowa Dairy plant workers aided but could not revive him. Surviving siblings include Johnny Otto Marguerite and Alice with others in the family.
A buggy was struck by a locomotive after flagmen warned the occupants not to cross the track. Mrs. Duffina, aged 455, died instantly along with her 18 year old daughter. The other daughter died shortly after. Two grandchildren were only slightly bruised, and the horses ran away but were recovered unharmed.

J. V. Stafford of Thornburg Ia leaped from a freight car in front of a passenger train at Hammond Indiana and was instantly killed. Stafford was with three companions traveling the country in search of work. Brafford and Hiefendi, both listed as Thornburg residents, also appear in the incident.
