Mrs Lizzie Price of Fe ix township was adjudged insane and taken to Independence by the sheriff. She escaped from her home during rain and fell from a barn rafters eighteen feet high, breaking a leg. Price has prior asylum stays and the incident follows reports of new farm wire fencing schemes and local chatter about contracts.
Mr and Mrs F C Strumma visit their son Freely in Waterloo. Bert Ham and Ehmea and Mrs Bert Ham called in Independence. Arthur Mills visit his sister Mrs Otto Ludo. James Hilton and Fred made a business trip to Independence. Willie Stewart returned to Waterloo after visiting Leo Ham.

Zimmerman family welcomes a baby girl while measles illness eases. Tracy Ames and Ethel Duke, of Tracy, wed in Cedar Rapids last week. Several residents travel to Charles City and Waterloo for events. Jun 3 weddings include Slippy family relocation to Waterloo and Johnson marrying Adale Methfessel. Ana Stram returns from Cedar Falls. Gladys Kirkwatick and NaVeda Teats back from Cladbrook. Ella Lorene of Berlin visits Reinbeck. Ronald and Agnes Cameron go to Waterloo. Roy Hall returns.
GEN ESEO June 27 The people of this vicinity are preparing for a Fourth of July celebration in Gunn's grave with all invited. Miss Be Speer returned home after a three week visit with friends in Tracy and Waterloo O FE Merritt lost several hogs in the flood Monday night. OL wt. Smith bought a residence in Dysart and will quit farming. Several youths enjoyed an anady at J B Thomas's home Tuesday night. E 3 Davis of Waterloo was a Geneseo cattle r one day last week. Miss Lizzie Burns closed No 2 spring term with a grounds picnic. W T Adair left for South Dakota Monday due to a nephew's death.

Will Baker and F T Bement, schoolmates, were in Decorah, Mildred Warner visited Parkersburg, and Mrs W C Hine of Fort Dodge visited her mother. Blanche Harrington and daughter Sadie of Sioux City visited relatives. Miss Laura Mansfeld entertained several young ladies Friday.
Blanche and Mamie Amick spent several days this week with their friend in honor of Mr. Ceorgle Downing of Thornton. Rev Knight and family vacationing at Riverside Park. Charles Point’s ill son and relatives summoned. Falkin Fielding Theatrical Co lauded by patrons after three performances. Ralph Sylvester resigns from Smith Drug to join firm in Clinton. Halph leaves town. Charles Bement repairs house with Mr McDowall supervising. Mrs Bement travels to Waterloo for a few days.

Davenport, June 28. The Girls' Bachelor club has organized to secure the names, addresses, and ages of Davenport's marriageable men. Secretaries of lodges and unions will supply names as the club begins its work. Members promise daily calls to encourage marriage, aiming to reduce bachelorhood with a high motive.

Burlington June 29 A despondent sixty year old wife of a prominent salmon keeper Mrs David Atmindinger hanged herself that night in Burlington. Ill health and sorrow were given as the cause.

In New York on June 23 Clarence W Byrne was convicted by Special Sessions Court for failing to provide proper medical care to his 18 year old daughter Viola who died from bronchial pneumonia after a Christian Scientist prayed for her daily. The offense carries up to one year in prison or a fine of 860 dollars or both. Judge Deuel ruled that a new medical practitioners law did not apply since it took effect May 12 and Viola died nine days earlier.
