The Iowa State Engineers society met last evening with about sixty members present. The session outlined upcoming plans and featured a discussion led by officers and members on the group's activities.
Waterloo bankers reported a year of extraordinary business at yearly stockholders meetings. Commercial National elected nine directors and officers including W W Miller as president and E L Johnson as vice president. First National re-elected old directors with H B Allen as president. Security Savings showed deposits rising with 1200 depositors. examinations confirmed solid gilt edged securities. Waterloo National re-elected directors Richards Holmes and J R Vaughan. officers named Richard Holmes as president. Leavitt and Johnson National bank elected J T Leavitt as president with Ira Rodamar as cashier and director slate including J M Leavitt. Waterloo Casket Company held its annual meeting as incorporation date shifted to January.
Henry Myers John Thee F L Ele berg John Diamond and J F Burns elected officers including President Henry Myers Vice President Chas Hoolnagle of Dubuque Secretary F L Eickelbers and Treasurer John Thee. Manager selection for the institution was deferred until January 27. The company reports good business and says prospects for the coming year are flattering.
Dunkerton reports shipping of sheep and cattle from Dewar with J. Kirby planning ongoing purchases and Dewar as headquarters. Local visits include Ed Stackell, Agnes Connelly, Agnes, and Duncan Anderson. Miss Kate Schmitt won a silver set with over 1000 votes. George Robinson sold twenty steers at 134 per head and ice houses filled for the dairy. France, Germany, Russia, and Great Britain are noted with population service ratios.

The caucus praised a long senate term and honored Senator Dolliver for oratory and leadership. It nominated two U.S. senators and, by acclamation, state printer Bernard Murphy of Vinton, state binder Howard Tedford of Mt. Ayr, and code editor R. Carter of Sioux City.
