January 16 Ames. The $2 004 wagon shown at the World's Fair by Burg Warton company of Burlington was awarded to W J Johnson of Athens for raising the best 100 ears of corn in 1904. From Tuesday's Daily High Daven of Lester township was found dead last night at a wood pile where he went for wood. He 70 years old and had lived in the county nearly 30 years. He was born in Westmeath Ireland in 1835 and came to this country in 1860. Survived by a daughter and relatives in Ireland. Funeral at St Joseph's Catholic Church Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Interment in Catholic cemetery. Rev Father Cooney in charge.

Daven Dies of Pneumonia Near Dunkerton

The death of Daven near Dunkerton Monday was due to pneumonia, not a wood pile accident as once thought. Coroner Dr. McManus and a three member jury ruled the disease caused the fatal end after examination. Daven had been in good health earlier this year.
