14 000 Fire At Holland Iowa Store Burns Entire Stock
Fire at the Fererichs and Lingelbach general store in Holland Grundy County Iowa destroyed the building and contents estimated near 15 000 with 4 000 in book accounts. The store owner Lingelbach and wife were away in Wellburg when the blaze began early Wednesday. Firefighters saved neighboring stores Haven hardware and Conrad drug. No fire protection in town and wells were used to fight the blaze. Building 22 by 80 feet frame structure owned by H H Reents with 2 000 insurance. Stock insured for 3 730. Post office located in rear end but no mail was lost. The cause is unknown.
