Frances Griffith files for divorce from Jacob H. Griffith after 31 years of marriage and seven children. She seeks custody of minor children, $4 000 permanent alimony, $250 temporary alimony, and a $3 000 writ of attachment against his property. Allegations include desertion infidelity and failure to support. The couple married in Cedar Falls December 19, 1879 and lived on a farm near Waterloo before disputes over moving and business duties led to separation. Six of the seven children are dying. four are minors. The complaint notes alleged unlawful relations with other women and asset misappropriation following an auction sale of stock and farm equipment. The suit was filed yesterday by Gates Littling.

Detroit Arthur Feb. 9 The trial of Dr. George A. Fritch on manslaughter charges in the death of Maybelle Millman of Ann Arbor opened today. The body was found dismembered in three gunny sacks submerged in Ecorse Creek last September. Key witness chauffeur Thomas Leach testified that he drove Fritch to Ecorse Creek at midnight and waited as three sacks were dumped into the water. Prosecutor Van Zile led the case for the state.
