Frederick Holtz 83 Dies After Long Illness in Waterloo Area

Frederick Holtz a longtime resident of Waterloo Iowa died after a prolonged illness. Born in Leitzen Germany on July 5 1834 he immigrated to America with his wife in 1842 settling in Milwaukee before moving to Iowa then Newell and finally Waterloo to live with a daughter. Survived by one son and four daughters and two Milwaukee based fathers he spent much of his life as a farmer and worked in a Milwaukee stone quarry earlier. Funeral plans await arrangements with First Lutheran Church and Rev Manaskart.
