Water loo chapter No 128 C E S held a meeting in Masonic Temple. Forty five petitions were received and a special meeting set for May 26 at Waterloo Theater Beautiful. About one thousand members from fifty leading chapters are expected to attend with grand officers of Iowa present for a gala day. A committee of J L Rose Mrs A H Halt and Mrs F A Sporle was named to make arrangements.

Maxine Nowell aged 28, daughter of Mr and Mrs F W Nowell, died Tuesday night at their Los Angeles home. Uncle C O Wright was notified of the death by telegraph. The Nowells left Waterloo for California and many friends here extend sympathy. Mr Nowell was formerly manager of Swem Gas Machine Company and later involved in real estate in this city.

Catches Runaway Husband Snagged by Detective Wife

Funeral for Mrs. Louis Baker of Denver Iowa
Mrs. Louis Baker died at her home two miles northwest of Denver after a short illness of lung fever. She was born in Germany on September 8 1846 and came to Illinois with her sister, married Louis Baker in 1867, then moved to Iowa living near Denver for years. Funeral services were at St Peters Evangelical Church with Rev Krumm officiating and interment in the Evangelical cemetery. She leaves her husband seven grandchildren and six children Fréd Henry John Minnie Dryker W Stuker Louis and others. Many friends will miss her amiable character.
