The National Automobile Dealers Association reports average losses per used car from $39.23 to $55.17 across city sizes, with 15 to 20 percent operating expenses. Despite higher sales in 1926, profit margins shrank as prices fell and costs rose, reflecting dealer difficulties in recouping expenses.
Iowa counties will receive about 700 000 pairs of automobile plates on December 1 for 1927. Plates will feature a dark blue background with orange figures.
