Big Bill Mason the Human Hyena terror of 1900s crime
A sensational portrait of Benjamin Shipper known as Big Bill Mason. The piece recounts brutal murders in Schenectady and Philadelphia, including Judge Blodgett and Major Wilson, detailing Mason’s escape acts, weaponry, and clashes with detectives from New York, Philadelphia, and beyond. It notes his alias Lynch, exploits across Camden and the Bowery, and hints at possible cooperation if promises were made, with Sing Sing looming as his next stop.
