Two Young Men Escape From Eldora Jail in Iowa
Roy McCoy and Clayton Summer, both about 20, escaped from the Eldora county jail by sawing two ¾ inch steel bars and forcing out a mesh. They had been confined on a 9 day sentence for tire theft and were indicted for stealing an automobile owned by Thomas Lytle. Outside help is suspected as pals aided the escape with soap or similar aids. Sumner is from Gifford. McCoy's wife is moving to Missouri. his father lives in Eldora.
