Des Moines Runaway Margaret Luka Returns From Flee with Milton Heavilin
Miss Margaret Luka, a runaway from Des Moines, eloped with Milton Heavilin after an August 22 meeting at a state fair. She was delivered to her father at East Des Moines station by Sheriff Wiliam Knox. At the depot she resisted reporters and later claimed pressures to return home while expressing intent to marry Heavilin. Her mother lies ill, and the girl alternates between affection for her father and defiance toward her family.
