Osage funeral services were held for Jim Atuffley of Fairfield Idaho, who built Osage's first elevator. Rev Walker of the Congregational church officiated. Surviving are two sons Fred Atuffley of Fairfield Idaho and Max Atuffley of Los Angeles California.

Matt T Owens Named Presidential Elector in California
Matt T Owens formerly a Waterloo attorney has been chosen as a presidential elector by the Republicans of California's Ninth district. He served as brigadier general of the California National Guard and is a longtime Whittier resident. Owens was born in Apollo Pennsylvania and moved to Whittier in 1838. He practiced law in Waterloo over a decade before relocating to California. He held the Los Angeles police judge post for 16 years starting in 1889 and married in Whittier since 1900. He retired from the military in 1912 and remains active in clubs and fraternal groups. Also, Mrs M Evenson died Sunday in her car after attending a family reunion near St Ansgar from heart disease. her husband died earlier in February 1521 from a fall.
