Trial Over Breach Suit Involving Edward Oldfield Estate
Federal court in Council Bluffs pursues a $10,000 breach of promise case by Mrs. Elvie L. Parsons against the estate of the late Edward Oldfield. Parsons claims Oldfield promised marriage in 1930, seeking heart balm. defense contends any promise occurred during illness and does not admit a promise. Oldfield left a $25,000 estate with life interests to three daughters and their grandchildren to follow, while another similar suit by Nancy Rowle secured a $4,750 judgment for a claimed common law wife.
