Billy Pig and the Red Coat in the Pasture
Billy Pig defies his mother by swapping coats and entering a pasture with cows. A chase follows as the cows notice him and he is knocked into a muddy puddle by a wall, then retreat determines his bravado. He returns home, claims a tainted lesson for Billy Goat, but is exposed when Goat mocks him and Piggie Brown scorns his tale. The story ends with Billy Pig punished and his red coat spoiled.

State urged to create a collective workers fund
The author argues Iowa should replace private insurance with a state administered collective fund to provide maximum worker compensation at minimum employer cost. The current system leaves employers at risk, favors insurance monopolies, and undermines fair protection for partly disabled and aging workers. A state fund would end high rates, avoid employer disqualification, and unify standards for compensation and insurance.
