Canada to Remove Tariff on Wheat
Chicago dispatch reports the Canadian government may drop the 10 cent per bushel duty on Canadian wheat to ease shipments to the United States. A removal would flood U S mills with Canadian grain, possibly followed by oats, aiding Canadian growers amid high cash wheat prices and premium costs in Chicago. Decision expected this week after Ottawa and Winnipeg signals.
