Pigeon Shooters Rally at Walton Picnic

Attendance at the Izaak Walton league district picnic at Casebeer Heights was trimmed by Saturday night’s storm yet a good crowd of men and women enjoyed the riverside event. Weather shifted from hot to cold delaying speaker Martin Geske who could not reach Waterloo. Local Waltonians gave talks, baskets yielded dinner, and races and a tug of war wove in amid clay pigeon shooting led by Lou Witty with nearly 50 gunners. Miss Jeanette Ay, 14, provided the shooting highlight for the day.
