Dr H H Seerley, president emeritus of Iowa State Teachers College, addressed the Business and Professional Women's Club at its opening meeting in Black's tearoom last night. He urged economy and honesty, urged better plans for business, and called for improved salaries and conditions for employed women. He described conditions in Chicago with 24,000 women earning under 25 dollars weekly. He discussed ways to replace less capable teachers, pension ideas, and reflected on pioneer days and progress in various fields. Two cello solos preceded the address.
