W C Stewart Suffers a Stroke at Home
W C Stewart foreman of bridges and buildings for the Hifness Central railway suffered a stroke at his Conger Street home yesterday morning as he prepared to begin the day. His condition is reported favorable. he remains able to speak though the stroke affects his left side. He is 53 years old and has 18 years with the railway.

Ninety Ninth Birthday Joy for Bremer County Woman
Mrs Isli nor Deyo of Waverly observes her ninety ninth birthday with visitors from Waverly Waterloo and surrounding towns. She is the oldest Baptist in Iowa and received a large print Bible from Baptist Record. Although bedbound, she remains cheerful and can recite the alphabet backward flawlessly. Born in Saratoga Springs New York she moved to Bremer county in 1864.
