Francis Charges Go to Examiners

Des Moines reports that C. I. McNutt, attorney for and secretary of the Good Schools Committee of Iowa, indicated the committee can substantiate all charges against Miss Jay E. Francis, Republican nominee for state superintendent, but the committee's member names remain secret. The charges allege bribery related to pay for poll workers, and the state board of educational examiners will review the matter, with several university and school officials listed as involved observers.
