Finley’s Wild Life Studio Protects Species Across West
William J. Finley, famed naturalist and photographer, and his wife Irene maintain a large fireproof house in Jennings Lodge Oregon housing some 200000 feet of negatives. Their work, focused on wild life conservation, spans from Mexico to Alaska, with Finley serving as director of wildlife conservation for the American Nature Association and advising on migratory bird treaties. He often travels year round to study and photograph birds and mammals, discusses protective laws and efforts to curb plume hunting, and recounts expeditions from mountain goats to mountain lions.
