Missouri Exhibit of Clothing Sent to Iowa Co fairs
Allison Iowa September 11 Special Something new in women s exhibits has been observed this year at county fairs including Butler county fair this week A Missouri woman entered a ble package of garments here having something for nearly every class Several pictures were shown in the arc department by an Ohio person These exhibits were sent to Allison by mail Indications were that the pictures had seen hard service on the fair circuit and that they had been mailed from one fair to another Some of them were soiled and torn The clothing exhibit from Missouri was much the worse for travel It was said that the articles were nothing unusual in quality and that nearly all were soiled badly Rules of the fair say definitely that articles to compete must not be soiled Another section of the rules says that all articles exhibited in the clothing and fancy work sections must have been made by the exhibiter during the current year Opinion was general here that many of the Missouri articles had setd a number of seasons When the clothing judges came to look them over she recognized the articles as the same that she had been called upon to judge the previous week when officiating at Grundy county fair It was plain that the Missouri exhibitor was making a person s circuits with the clothing with the main purpose of making a profit from prizes awarded The amount of premiums won here by either the Ohio or Missouri displays wasn t sufficient to get excited about SWINE HERD GROWS Charles City Ta Sep 11 Special Garrett Klock living near Floyd has made a record in pig raising Starting Nov 25 1925 his eight sows have produced 132 pigs up to date in less than nine and a half months
