Heavy delinquent tax in county shocks state Iowa

Delinquent taxes rise across Black Hawk Linn and other Iowa counties. In Black Hawk 5000 pieces of real estate owe tax from 1931, subject to 1 percent penalty monthly after last April. Linn reports 12 000 parcels unpaid, with second installment due now and delinquent after October 1, leading to December tax sale if unpaid. Failure to pay stems partly from low seed prices affecting farmers.
