Disagreement between Iowa local and district draft boards over war department dependents rules halts local board proceedings. Local board upheld exemptions for married men with dependents while district board certified 17 to military duty on appeal. Officials warn rulings depend on interpretation of June 1917 regulations and president’s guidance.

From a material cost view the Hudson Super Six is the lowest-priced car. Manufacturers facing higher material costs raised retail prices by up to 700 dollars, lifting four-figure models toward Hudson levels. Hudson prices stay firm for now, as current materials could push the Super Six toward two thousand dollars if continued. A seven passenger phaeton is offered at sixteen fifty, signaling looming price pressure as material supply remains tight.
