Tigret in Black Hawk county progressive convention plan
Deregate Affair in Court House Next Thursday Afternoon. A complete progressive ticket in the county Held is the program of the leaders in the new party in Black Hawk county. Every candidate on the republican ticket must announce himself and if the individual candidates are not of the right hue they will receive no support from the progressives and in fact they will have candidates named in opposition. Some of the more conservative progressives may not be in favor of this plan as a whole, but it is believed in well informed circles that this will be substantially the program carried out when delegates of the new party assemble in convention in the court house on Sept. 12 just one week from today. Carleton Sias, secretary of the progressive county central committee, prepared the call for the convention today. Waterloo people and members of the progressive party who attended the state convention yesterday at Des Moines returned home imbued with greater enthusiasm for the new party than ever before. Colonel Hoover is said to have made a masterly talk of more than an hour in length and many vexing questions and problems were cleared away.
