Beauty Creams and Skin Care Advice by Edna Kent Forbes
Edna Kent Forbes discusses beauty creams for different skin types and climates. She explains cleansing versus nourishing creams, the role of vegetable oils, and cautions against vanishing creams that clog pores. She notes rosy cheeks vary by ethnicity and offers hair loss guidance from a reader letter.
Side Talks on Dress Budgets and Time Versus Money
Ruth Cameron argues that a wife with three children and a large house spends far more time shopping for clothes than a childless sister with less money. She notes how time costs rise when retail hunting is needed and praises a woman who, despite a small allowance, achieves stylish results through careful planning and effort. The piece ends by calling such frugality a form of genius.
