State fair to build fish and game pavilion at grounds

Des Moines reports plans for a fish and game pavilion at the Iowa State Fair grounds with possible construction next season. It could be funded by the fish and game department and serve as a newspaper building proposed by Successful Farming at a grounds meeting. The fair’s attendance nears 408000, with admission 75 cents, and overall receipts likely higher than last year amid rising costs. Horseshoe contest ends with Frank Jackson and son of Kellerton leading. Humboldt and Polk counties tie for second. Kossuth team takes fourth. Polk county tops county farm exhibits with Guthrie second.
