Half-Width Paving at Fourth and Bertch Creates Island Plot

In Waterloo, Bertch Avenue from Fourth to Moir Street remains half paved at the Fourth Street intersection with Hertch Avenue. The island, once part of Home Park addition, hosts gophers and weeds, with city officials noting this is the first half-width paving of its kind. Dr. J F Yeuth’s experimental house stands nearby as the north side bears unpaved frontage. The city bought part of the plot after tax sales, and the Realty Co. keeps its adjacent half unpaved.
