Rose Hill group moves to eject Negro physician
A notice to vacate 705 Beech Street was served late yesterday on Dr. L. B. Purgerson, a Negro physician, by a Rose Hill Home Owners Protective Association committee through attorney E. H. McCoy. The group cites a 1934 contract restricting sales to non Negro buyers and authorizing action for damages for breaches. If Purgerson does not leave in three days, a removal proceeding will begin, McCoy stated.
