Planes Tested to Destruction at Army Wind Lab near Dayton
Dayton reports at Wright Field the army lab subjects airplanes to extreme stress tests. Propellers race behind a 6,000 horsepower motor while wind tunnels blast models at over 200 miles an hour. The facility, costing 3.5 million pounds, will be completed in 18 months and houses delicate, heavy equipment under Brigadier General Foulk's command.
