Monsignor James P. Ryan aged 77 and longtime pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Davenport died at 4 45 p m Tuesday after months of poor health He was born in 1842 near Nenagh Ireland and came to America with his family in 1848 He studied in Perryville Missouri Bardstown Kentucky and Baltimore before years in New York with the Paulist Fathers He joined the Davenport diocese in 1885 and served at St Marguerite’s cathedral starting January 1885
