Water loo Greeks Face Recruiting Fees for War Service
Thousands of Greek volunteers in New York City seek ships home to Greece but transport limits delay departures. To cover costs each volunteer must pay 20 dollars, with the rest funded from other sources. In Waterloo thirty six volunteers were ready to sail, but the new fee may halt departures. Peter Mavrelis reports the change could stop the recruitment effort. He and others plan to speak in Cedar Rapids to rally support for a Greek unit.
