Italian section hand shot in Illinois Central yards
Toney Beyeo a 33 year old Italian section hand was shot through the neck at 6 20 am in a boarding car at the Illinois Central freight yards and is expected to die. Sam Grago 36 a fellow worker is held as a possible murderer. Grago’s hand was shattered by the fatal shot and the seven other car occupants are in jail. Witnesses say Grago leaped from bed in night clothes and shot Beyeo without a word, then fled. The revolver used is being sought and the bullet was a 32 caliber round. Beyeo had 120 dollars on his person wrapped in a note likely to his wife in Sicily. The motive remains unclear and investigators press for more facts.
