Airplane crashes accounted for three deaths on Sunday among a busy tally of midweek and weekend disasters. Separate incidents across Michigan Iowa Illinois Ohio and Wisconsin left pedestrians and passengers injured or dead, with train and automobile accidents adding to the peril nationwide.

Many oldtime friends attended the funeral at the home of his daughter Mrs. Fla Lawson 1619 Lafayette Street. Rev John MacDonald led services. Burial was in Calgary. Relatives from Dubuque and Minneapolis attended. Uncle Billy Pierce long public servant also laid to rest beside his wife. Francis Stevens, 17, son of Mr and Mrs P J Stevens near New Hartford died in Se Francis hospital from cancerous ailment following a fall injury. Funeral arrangements set for Thursday at Catholic church in Hartford.

The body of a man believed to be Edward Harkness, 41, of Reinbeck, was found near railroad tracks at Rich Valley near here. Dr. O W Engelbert, Dakota county coroner, said death was due to acute alchololhem. Harkness, an adopted son of Meissner, a Reinbeck financier, had no family except Meissner who lives in Portland.
Derranca Lyons, 26, of Dubuque, confessed that he smuggled a gun into the county jail. The weapon was linked to the murder of Deputy Sheriff Leo Hetamer during a Monday morning incident. Escapees Earl Stearns Donald Xerdell and Harold Carlson fled. Carlson has since been recaptured. Hetamer was reportedly shot by Stearns when the door to the bull pen was opened to bring food to inmates.
