Izaak Walton League opposes upper Mississippi drainage plan

Wil H. Dilg urged Iowa chapters to unite against the drainage project of the upper Mississippi bottoms between Lynxville and DeSoto on the Wisconsin side. He argued the land is unfit for agriculture, the bottoms are vital wildlife and fish hatcheries, and the case is before Wisconsin supreme court. Health official H. V. Pedersen warned of stream pollution and urged public cooperation and stronger laws. W. E. Albert stated Iowa did more fish rescue than the federal government, and committees were named for constitution, legislation, publicity, and resolutions.
