Education group outlines standards for teachers
The Iowa State Teachers association's advanced draft resolutions propose appointing the state superintendent by the state board, state annuity for teachers, and legal requirements for teacher training. Other items include high school selection of normal training entrants, state-paid tuition, and two years of professional training beyond high school. They urge fixed hiring dates, protection from last minute resignations, early kindergarten plans, and joint county institutes to boost funding.
