Two Daughters Reveal Slaying Ties to Zippe and Wagen
Burlington Iowa October 10 Two young daughters of Jake Zippe 7 year old Topsy and 9 year old Vern told Sheriff Murray that their father and Jonathan Wagen shot and killed Oliver Sheppler alias Mack Schepter on the Zippe farm on Huron Island in the Mississippi River. The girls spoke after overhearing their parents discuss the case and were said to have revealed the truth under threats of death. Autopsy showed evidence of both revolver and shotgun fire.
