Millions to Be Loaned for Farming Needs in West Des Moines
Eugene Meyer Jr of the U S War Finance Corp visited Des Moines outlining a plan to place a billion dollars of credit with banks and livestock companies to finance cattle and sheep for feeding. He urged farmers not to market young stock early and predicted better conditions as funds flow, easing bank pressure and aiding other industries. He noted a forthcoming return to normalcy and compared current livestock surpluses to cotton markets, forecasting price rises in four weeks.
