Lutherans vow lay aid to Augustana synod drive
Julius Lincoln, executive of the Augustana Brotherhood, told the Iowa conference that lay members in the thousands feel indebted to the church and will support a nationwide mobilization. He said the movement aims to popularize church membership and turn visions into reality with money, planning, and cooperation. The speaker traced the synod’s work from its Chicago beginnings and noted Augustana’s deep ties to Swedish Americans.
