Elks Cornerstone Laid for Bedford National Home
The Bedford ceremony marked the cornerstone laying for the new national home of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Thousands attended as Bedford hosted delegations from Lynchburg Roanoke and beyond for the grand rite on the site of the old Motel Bedford. Grand Lodge officers led the program with William King Kingsley among attendees and speeches praising Elks charity and growth.
