Former Winton Man Dies in California

Frank Culp, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Culp of Winton, died in California after typhoid fever set in following a church supper. He was born on a farm south of town and lived there until moving to California. He leaves a widow and four children. His parents learned of his illness and traveled to California but arrived after his death. An obituary notes his death occurred a few days earlier in California. Annual Masonic election yielded M. Girl Crushed Arm In Farm Elevator Gearing Accident

A 16 year old daughter of P Martins was injured at her father's farm when her coat sleeve caught in a corn elevator chain. She was trapped for about 30 minutes while unloading corn, suffering a crushed arm and severe tearing. The incident occurred on the farm near Atlantic, Iowa.
