Liner to Bring 2000 Prisoners From Germany to Rotterdam
An American liner will sail from a French port for Rotterdam to take on board 96 officers and 2006 men who have been prisoners of war in Germany. Maj. Gen. Harbord directs rationing and clothing for the voyage, with tobacco, canned goods, playing cards, toilet articles, soaps, and towels for the prisoners. A quartermaster detail will assist, and a brass band will greet the ship as it reaches Rotterdam and the prisoners head toward freedom.
