Fat Geese Stolen Near Vicious Bulldog at Davis Home
Seven fat geese valued at 21 dollars disappeared from Isaac Davis’s Dunham Place home on Monday night. The geese were tied in a barn as a vicious bulldog slept among them, and the method of theft remains a mystery. Davis suspects chloroform or a second dog used to distract the guard dog. The loss was not noticed until the next morning when feeding. Also reported is a separate note: Fred Pratt, 13, of Indiana Avenue, left for school yesterday and has not been found today, with parents alerting police.

Discovery that benefits mankind
Two foods added to human welfare through 19th century discoveries. Newton’s 1835 vacuum milk concentration with cane sugar produced a semi liquid. Horlick’s 1883 dry milk powder with malted grain extract created Malted Milk. Its digestibility, ease of preparation, and climate stability made it an ideal food drink from infancy onward. Avoid imitations of Horlick’s.
