German Population Plan Aims Earlier Marriages and Fewer Diseases

Berlin reports the Deut sche Gesellschaft fur Bevoelkerungspolitik forms Oct 18 to counter Germany’s long term birthrate decline. The plan calls for tax reform to push bachelors toward marriage, motherhood bonuses, strict disease control, reduced training times, and educational campaigns by doctors and teachers. Emperor William and Bavaria’s king back the project. Social Democrats remain wary. Prof Julius Wolf leads the initiative, urging universal campaigning and earlier marriages, especially in rural and Catholic areas, to avert a future population drop.
