A young man recounts a fatal love tragedy in Sudbury and Waltham. The girl shot herself after a quarrel with her fiancé Buckley, who then drove the body. Police say Buckley faces murder charges for the self inflicted wound link.
More than 250 residents, including a dozen mothers with babies, fled a West Sixty-Eighth street apartment fire early today. An aged woman was badly burned and six people were rescued unconscious from smoke as flames raced and roofs were shed before equipment arrived.
Three year old Dean Durr son of Mr and Mrs Truman Burr of Williamsburg was injured when his ride home from the University hospital was struck. He suffered splintered bones and brain injury and remained in serious condition as doctors treated him.

Mrs OC C Knapp aged 80 of 1481 Newell Street died at 3 am in Seattle after long illness. She was born March 10, 1847 in Belvidere Illinois and was married sixty years ago to Mr Knapp. She was sister of the late Frank Neely, an early day businessman. Funeral details unavailable.

Des Moines reports that Iowa sheriffs discussed liquor law enforcement at a statehouse talk. Mrs Ida B Wise Smith of the Iowa WCTU stated that Iowa had settled the law's legal questions but called for greater cooperation among all agencies enforcing the dry law.
John Rompot 57 owner of a soft drink parlor died in a local hospital from a shotgun wound self inflicted in his home basement while despondent over ill health. Several workers suffered minor injuries in the same incident and a former mayor, William Law, visiting, sustained a bruised leg.
George H. Randall 73 of Rapid City was arrested in Yankton on a murder charge for the poisoning death of Ole Peterson on Sept 19. Randall, former president of Citizens Bank & Trust Co of Rapid City, will be sent back to Rapid City today.
Washington November 17. Chairman Reid of the house flood control committee said a constitutional amendment may be necessary if the government assumes full charge of Mississippi flood control. Representative Swing of California suggested states might object to federal protection within their borders. Reid noted the federal government cannot locate a post office or a fort without state consent, highlighting a fundamental issue.
E H Bradford was elected president of the local Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen branch at a meeting last night. Officers include T E Kelly as vice president W B Wilkins treasurer A B Curran secretary and E M Gaige medical adviser.
The Indian coastal steamer Jayanti wreckage has been located south of Bombay but all 84 passengers aboard are missing and presumed lost. A central news dispatch from Bombay cites officials confirming the discovery and ongoing missing persons search.
