Snowy Owl Strays Into Iowa From Arctic Circle
Charles City Iowa November 16 A large snowy owl was captured by F J Bongartz in the Ben Buna woods. The arctic bird is rare in this region and typically scarce in some winters. It is a large largely white bird with horizontal black bands and a round head. It preys on small animals and birds but there is no proof it threatens poultry.
