Deaf couple tragedy echoes in sign language
Martin Garvick, a deaf mute, shot his wife in a dispute over living together and then wounded himself. Mrs Garvick, though deaf, survived with brain injury while Garvick sustained only a scalp wound. They had married after meeting at the state school for the deaf ten years earlier and have two children, Vera and Madeline. The incident occurred at Mrs Hartfiel's home on Twenty third Avenue North.
