Eight Die In Graystone Hotel Fire In Indianapolis
Indianapolis November 14 UP Five investigations into the blaze that swept the Graystone apartment hotel killing eight and injuring twelve under way. Fire officials say the building was a tinder box and that rubbish around the elevator shaft aided the fire. Investigators consider incendiary origin while owners deny negligence. Fire started at elevator shaft and spread through second and third floor corridors trapping occupants who tried to escape. Forty-two were rescued from upper floors and several jumped from windows.
