William J. Dee, 24, New Hampton, was arrested by State agent Herbert Stoner in the theft of a Hudson couch from Mrs. K. J. Powers of Winter, after the car was found at Aetwath and brought home. Dee signed a confession and claimed Ashby invited him to ride, while Ashby declined to admit theft but noted a prior assault conviction.
